Coeur d'Alene's November Events
Coeur d'Alene's one busy town in November as we prepare for another cold and snowy winter. But the spirit of the town doesn't hibernate over winter, instead we gear up to enjoy the weather to come! The ski resorts are looking forward to opening by Thanksgiving weekend. Here's a look ahead at other events around Coeur d'Alene and North Idaho throughout the month of November. Remember to visit the Coeur d'Alene events page for more details and a calendar view of these upcoming events.
November starts off with a bang as the University of Idaho Vandals come off their victory over NMSU to face San Jose. You'll find photos of the game on lovecda.com afterwards! Check out our current UI Vandal Football photos! Computer and Cell Phone Wallpapers available too, photos courtesy of 29k Productions
After the Vandals game you can catch a showing of "A Few Good Men" at the Lake City Playhouse at 7:30 on November 1. It also shows Nov 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, & 15. November 2nd marks the end of Daylight Savings time! Be sure to set your clocks back an hour to standard time.
Elaine Green of Moscow is the featured artist at the Art Spirit Gallery here in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Her charcoal works will be displayed through the 8th of November. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Fridays until 9:00 pm.
Election day is coming up on Tuesday November 4. Get out and vote already! Then kick back at Calypsos and enjoy Open Mic night. Calypsos hosts Open Mic night every Tuesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Of course you'll want to join the people at the Barrel Room for live music every Thursday evening from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
The Roosevelt Inn hosts a Murder Mystery night every Friday this month. The cost is $59 per person and includes dinner. If you'd like to have an overnight stay in addition to the Murder Mystery and dinner, the price is only $139 per person. There is only one open public mystery happening each month. Call the Inn for details at 800.290.3358.
Veteran's Day is November 11th. Take this day to remember Idaho Veterans. Idaho Senator Crapo is honoring Earl D. Hunter of Coeur D’Alene with a Spirit of Freedom award. Earl Hunter "was a Chaplain who served in battle in World War II at Monte Cassino. He then went on after the war to work as a missionary in remote locations and now serves as the Chaplain for the local VFW. He has represented the Disabled American Veterans with great dignity and effectiveness and been an advocate for teaching about hearing loss and dealing with its effects."
On the 14th you can enjoy Coeur d'Alene's Art Walk. The downtown art galleries are hosting receptions to give you the opportunity to meet artists and view their latest work. There will also be live music! 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm November 14.
The final home game for the UI Vandals football team is November 15. They square off against their rivals the Boise State Broncos. Now everyone knows that Boise is not a state, and that Coeur d'Alene and northern Idaho are just that much better than Boise and southern Idaho. So head on down to Moscow and root your University of Idaho Vandals on to victory over BSU! Go Vandals! You'll find photos of the game on lovecda.com afterwards! Check out our current UI Vandal Football photos! Computer and Cell Phone Backgrounds available too. Photos courtesy of 29k Productions LLC
November 22 the Kootenai County Fairgrounds hosts the AKC B Dog Fun Match Fundraiser. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, free admission! This event is organized by the Coeur d'Alene Dog Fanciers, who --figure this one out-- have a Washington contact number if you'd like more information. 509.290.6167
Thanksgiving is on Thursday the 27th. Enjoy some relaxing time with your families and friends. And start making plans for tomorrow...SHOPPING!
Yes, Friday November 28th is Black Friday, the Day after Thanksgiving, the biggest shopping day of the year, and Coeur d'Alene is no exception to that rule. There will be deals galore throughout the city. I highly recommend going to Fred Meyer first to enjoy complementary donuts with coffee and juice. Of course you'll definitely want to catch an afternoon nap if you're going to be up and about for the evening's festivities! Head downtown for the annual Holiday Light Show Parade. Immediately following the parade will be a magnificent fireworks display, followed by the Coeur d'Alene Resort's Lighting Ceremony! It's one busy day so be prepared. Last year's event was presented on Good Morning America. This event also kicks off Coeur d'Alene's Festival of Trees.
November 29 and 30th you'll be able to enjoy the first few CdA Resort's Holiday Light show and Journey to the North Pole cruises. These continue through the end of the holiday season.
Have a wonderful November, and if you have an event you'd like added to the lovecda.com calendar, we invite you to join the website and you may submit your event to the calendar through the Create content interface.
