It's That Time of Year Again: Back to Standard Time

Today is the last full day of Daylight Saving Time in 2011. At 2:00a on Sunday, DST ends and Standard Time resumes, as the clocks are reset to 1:00a.

Enjoy your extra hour of sleep! Or if you're in the right establishments in downtown Coeur d'Alene, enjoy your extra hour of drinking, because some won't call last call until 2:00a...Standard Time.

The weather for the first half of the week looks cold, but nice with only scattered rain/snow predicted until Thursday. The rest of the week looks pretty dismal from Thursday on out with cold weather, clouds, and rain/snow mixtures.

You can read the long-term weather forecast for this winter along with several helpful links here.

Finally, do remember that studded traction tires are now legal throughout the northwest. Washington is the latecomer, only allowing studded tires starting on November 1. Idaho and Montana allowed them starting October 1. So if you were waiting to get your winter tires on until you could legally drive into Spokane, great news!

Studded snow tires must come off by March 31 in Washington, April 30 in Idaho, and May 31 in Montana.
