Parks Day 2010

This Saturday, July 10, the Coeur d'Alene Parks Foundation invites you to the third annual Parks Day Celebration. This year's Parks Day will feature Sunshine Meadows Park and Landings Park.

Activities this year include a bicycle safety course with free helmets & bicycle tune-ups available, Art on the Edge, an inflatable jumping castle, horseshoes, volleyball, tetherball, a dog contest brought to you by the Kootenai County Dog Park Association.

Also making appearances are fiddlers Arvid Lundin and Dave Beach, the Youth Marimba Band, and Bubbles the Clown.

Events start at 9:00 AM at Sunshine Meadows. At 5:00 PM the Celebration kicks off at The Landings Park with its dedication ceremony followed by a free hot dog dinner. The movie "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" will show at dusk, accompanied by free kettle corn.

Parks Day Celebrations began in 2008 to raise awareness about the great parks available in the Coeur d'Alene area. The first parks to be featured were Bluegrass, Ramsey, and Riverstone parks and the Prairie Trail that links them. Parks Day 2009 featured Shadduck Lane Park, the Canfield Mountain Trails, and Cherry Hill Park.
