A Tea Party...CDA Style!

April 15th is not generally considered a day of fun filled celebration for most tax paying citizens here in the United States. While everyone certainly is willing to pay their fair share of operating this great nation...many people feel as if our government's reach and ability to continually dip into our personal pocketbooks has become a bit excessive.

So, at Independence Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene, local residents came together to voice their opposition to big government and excessive spending. It's estimated that around 1,500-2000 people gathered-decked out in patriotic colors and proudly holding signs reflecting their opinions on the state of our nation today.

It was also refreshing to see so many children there too. I took two of my children down to observe...it was a great lesson in freedom of speech and civics.

With over 200 Tea Parties taking place across the nation yesterday, I think big government was a bit surprised and taken back by it. For the President of the United States to directly address the Tea Parties yesterday says that it was obviously a concern to those in DC. Hopefully we'll start seeing "change" that accurately reflects what We the People really desire from those who were placed into positions to represent US.
