Coeur d'Alene Parks Day Celebration 7/11/2009
Coeur d'Alene has 24 parks.
Twenty-four multi-purpose areas where families can spend their days enjoying the best the North Idaho outdoors has to offer. Many of these parks are unknown even to the people who live here, so the Coeur d'Alene Parks Foundation decided to raise awareness of the city's parks with the 2008 Parks Day, featuring Bluegrass, Ramsey, and Riverstone Parks and the Prairie Trail that links them. The event was wildly successful and is being presented again this year!
July 11, 2009 the second Coeur d'Alene Parks Day Celebration kicks off at 8:00 am at Shadduck Lane Park. Art on the Edge, Bicycle Safety Demonstration, a free pancake breakfast (starting at 9 am) and many other family-oriented events and activities will be there. At 8:30 guided hikes on nearby Canfield Mountain will begin.
Celebration moves to Cherry Hill Park at noon for the Fallen Heroes Plaza dedication, a free hot dog lunch (starting at 1:00), Idaho Disaster Dogs demo, basketball, tennis, disc golf, and more.
For more information, visit the Coeur d'Alene Parks Website or view the Parks Day Celebration 2009 Flyer (pdf).
