JOEY'S IS NOW CLOSED, see comment below.

Joey's Smokin' BBQ is like a small town BBQ joint meets international fast food chain. You walk up to front counter, order your food from an over head menu, pay, and go sit down. The food comes fast, especially for BBQ, but that's where the fast food similarities end. The burgers are superbly cooked and very filling. Also, the fries are made from fresh cut potatoes, something you'd think would be more common in the state of Idaho. However, for a place that has BBQ in their name, I wasn't at all impressed with their BBQ sauce. It wasn't unique or tangy, it was just . . . BBQ sauce.

The atmosphere is not my favorite, but still comfortable. The owners have done their best to combine classy and rustic but there's still a sense of the modern, sterile environment that seems to be prevalent throughout the Riverstone area where Joey's resides.

Overall I'd say that Joey's Smokin' BBQ is a good place to grab a quick bite before a movie, but if you want a sit down, savory BBQ meal, go somewhere else.

Joey's is CLOSED

They are now closed for business (2/8/09). Due to some issues with the Riverstone development, they weren't able to make it. Without Barnes and Noble coming into Riverstone and more restaurants than were originally planned, the owners of Joey's have closed. We're sorry to see a local business close up!

Joey's Smokin' BBQ

I wasn't even aware of this restaurant and I've been down in the Riverstone area quite often just wandering around since my home is nearby. It sounds like a nice place for a quick lunch sometime. How were the prices?

Prices

Prices were ok. Expect to pay around 5-10 bucks per person.
