New York Express

My youngest son talked me in to going out for lunch today. So, Ben, my wife, and I took off and decided to try a new (to us) lunch spot. After a little discussion, we decided upon the New York Express. For those of you who aren't familiar with New York Express, it's a small establishment located just south of Kootenai Medical Center on Lincoln Way.

We were pleasantly greeted at the door, seated, and were looking at menus within just a few moments of stepping through the door. New York Express touts itself as having the "world's best Italian sausage." My son ordered a New York Sausage sandwich (sausage, peppers, and onions) while my wife and I, who are die-hard cheesesteak fans, ordered Philly Cheesesteaks. (My wife grew up in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia.)

When our food was served, my son's eyes grew huge at the sight of his monstrous sandwich. I think his exact words were, "oooh yeah." The cheesesteaks were equally plentiful. While they aren't as good as a real Philly cheesesteak, they were delicious in their own right. Oh, by the way, their sausage is extremely delicious! In fact, I might order the sausage sandwich next time!

There are other sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes on the menu. They also are now open for dinner and will deliver to your home or business.

Lunch for the three of us, with drinks came to just over $23.00. They also have a punch card for your meals...buy 9, get the 10th for free. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely patronize this pleasant, little establishment again!
